In 1831 Twinings created Earl Grey tea in their shop on the Strand on the request of the Prime Minister at the time. He loved it so much he lent his name to it. Before they knew it, Earl Grey had taken London by storm and it is still a firm favourite amongst people who like things with a twist, who travel off the beaten track and don't always play by the rules.
Earl Grey has a distinctive citrusy flavour and aroma that fills the air with the promise of summer orchards. One taste and you'll see why Earl Grey himself fell in love with it all those years ago. Individually sealed to preserve freshness, bags are string & tagged.
To serve: Brew for two minutes or three for a stronger cup. Serve with a splash of milk or black with a slice of lemon.
